Wonderwoman
I was working on a wonderwoman print for Toronto’s Fanexpo this weekend
and thought it might be fun to share the process the drawing has gone
through so far. This is from initial ruff a mock up colour.

Sadie
We had a super sweet guest come to the studio today. Her name is Sadie and she’s an aspiring story artist.
Being 13, it must have been really intimidating having the attention of so many artists. I know when I was young, visiting an animation studio would have been a dream come true. Alas if it would have occurred, I would have been so shy that I could not have spoken to anyone.
I can’t wait to see the stories Sadie will do =D. Everyone at work made a drawing for Sadie. These ones are mine :)

Making new friends
While in a line-up at TCAF this weekend I got to meet a father and son that were waiting to have a book
signed by Svetlana Chmakova. I felt so lucky to be in line next to
them. They were so genuine and nice and we soon got into conversations
about books and movies.
When I mentioned that I had the pleasure of working on “The Little Prince”, they told me how much they loved it. The son’s face especially light up so much and I can’t truly describe the joy at seeing something that I was a part of touch someone so genuinely. Meeting them was something really special that has had me smiling for days. As a thank you, I sent them this drawing.

Victoria
I wasn’t really happy with the last drawing that I posted, so I thought
I’d take another crack at it and push the design a bit further. This is a
really ruff pass and the pose is a bit static, but I already like the
feel of it so much more.

Inktober 04 - The Raven King
Not to be confused with "The (true) Raven King" from Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell. (Such a great book!!!)

Inktober02 - Ranma 1/2 fan art
I wanted to do drawings for inktober, but don't really have any inks with me at the moment. So even though this was done digitally it was done in the spirit of inktober :)
I found a list of inspirations of what to draw and one of the subjects matters was "Manga". So the following drawing is inspired by Rumiko Takahashi's Ranma 1/2. The whole cast of Ranma ½ is so funny and brilliant and makes me laugh so much!

Starwars
I’m not really sure if this is very successful, but I tried to do a somewhat abstract/impressionistic painting of
If I have time, I would love to do more drawings of her and the other “ The Force awakens” cast. I’m so excited for the next movie. But the waiting is so hard xD!

EliOli Tutorial
I tried my hands at copying a wonderful art tutorial that ELIOLI put onto their tumblr.
Trying to analyse why an artist made a certain choice is always fascinating, but getting to hear from the artist themselves always brings a wonderful insight into what goes on in their mind.
If you can, please check out their tutorial. It can be found here (link also below). I have to say I definitely learned a lot by recreating the image.
