A sudden urge

Unfortunately I'm not as eloquent a writer as some of my fellow bloggers. So you simply have to picture it written better then I could :) .

I'm not sure if any of you ever have this experience. Let me explain. Me and a few friends got to go drawing in the mornings for about 2 weeks. We were in between jobs as you may say and it was great just to get out and sketch together. Then about a week and a half ago I got this sudden urge that I simply had to go out and sketch. I had just bought a pen that James Robertson at "the iron scythe" had mentioned (sign pen by pentel -> THANK YOU JAMES!!!)
and I wanted to try it out right away.

So I went to one of the malls here and sat down to draw. I don't even know how to explain the feeling that came over me, but it felt like everything around me didn't matter and it also didn't matter weather or not I was making pretty drawings. It was almost as if I was surrounded by this bubble and let all these observations wash over me. I had the most wonderful time and have made a point to go out more since then.

There is definately something to be said about drawing with other people. You get inspired by the group and you'll sometimes get helpful hints or critiques. Yet there is something magical when it is only you and your sketchbook and you let the whole world wash over you.

My work is nothing ground breaking or special, but I thought I would share some of it with you.
Critiques and comments are always welcome. So without further ado, I humbly present

Good stuff! third one from later post and last one here are really good. Can definately see some j. robertson influence here. Totally agree with what you said here. Theres something about going out sketching that is just so special. Relaxing, rewarding. Sometimes I got a similar feeling with life painting, But theres also this "hunting" thing about sketching around that I really like. You just cant stop finding appealing things, and you feel you HAVE to put them down on paper.

Of to the store see if they have a pentel signature pen

I know exactly what you mean. I used to go cafe sketching before I moved to a small country town(no cafes here, alas.) It is an amazing experience. Nice sketchs =)
