Learning is the beginning of happiness

I was watching an interview with actress Lin I-Chen last week and she said this:
"Learning is the beginning of Happiness"

I thought that was a really beautiful statement.

Forgetfulness

Sorry for the lack of color. I'm not sure where my pencil crayons went off too. I'm hoping that the animation faeries are almost finished using them and will put them back somewhere that I can find them.

We've already had our first big snowfall of the year. Shan-Mei is trying to preserve some for next year.

Pencil Crayon 4

I like the concept of some of these, but I think the execution is definitely lacking. I thought I would still share them. Help and critiques are as always welcome.

Cheers

Pencil Crayon

I haven't used colored Pencils in a long time and I want to do more, it was so much fun! I was inspired by Kei Acedera's amazing art! Please go and check out her work, it's well worth the time.

Inspired

These drawings were inspired by Dharmali Patel and her incredible long hair. She cut it about a year and a half ago, but the memory still leaves traces.

Laundry Day

I'm proud to present to you guys the film "Laundry Day", that my friend Guillaume Chartier completed after his 4th year at Sheridan.

I got to do the effects animation for this film, which was super fun! I attached the youtube clips of some of the effects before they were integrated to the film. Enjoy.

If you haven't seen this film, I'd recommend watching it before looking at the effects.

One of my favorite places

One of my favorite places I would have to say, is a large airport. I just flew through Frankfurt and I almost wish I had more of a stopover inbetween my flights because, what a place to be.

Different people from all over the world, speaking their own languages, a visual merging of all cultures. I stopped to buy an ice-cream cone from a Häagen-Dazs stand, and all the people in front of me and behind me were from Japan. It was fascinating to watch them communicate with the lady behind the counter. Both sides had such patients.

Later on I looked up different flights that were leaving before mine and started to wander towards different gates. I sat down for a while to watch and listen. I didn't end up doing any drawing at all, but was absorbed just to sit and look.

I did have a chance to do a few drawings while I was away. Hope you enjoy them.

Movement

I'm going to be away from my computer for the next 2 weeks, but I wanted to update my blog before I left. So here are a few more pen sketches. I did these from a concert I saw online.

See you after I get back ^^

Some of you that come to visit my blog already know Dharmali personally. For those of you who don't, she's an amazing animator and an equally amazing designer, and she has a blog now :D :D

This is a sample of and illustration she did.

Quick lifedrawings

Unfortunately we only have the possibility to do lifedrawing once every 2 weeks here. That said, we have this amazing model, that totally makes up for it!!!

These are sketches that are between 30 seconds and 2 minutes I believe. Critiques are more then welcome, I know I still have a lot to improve on. Thanks already in advance.
Cheers, and hope you enjoy them.
